I have stayed in many 5 star hotels -- Ritz, 4 Seasons, etc. so I know what great hotels can be like. I wanted a more authentic experience in Cusco so I chose Atoq San Blas (as opposed to, for example, the Marriott). It is a wonderful boutique hotel in the best section of Cusco. Everything you want to see in Cusco is within walking distance. The staff is incredible -- true Peruvian hospitality. I had horrendous altitude sickness the first night and everyone was so concerned and helpful. (To avoid altitude sickness, I highly suggest Diamox or the slow acclimation starting in Macchu Pichu because once you get it, you are screwed). The well appointed room was lovely (photos are accurate) and the little garden courtyard, lobby and upstairs breakfast room are all welcoming places to spend some time. It is on a very quiet street, although please note you have to climb a steep set of stairs (it's the street, in fact) to get to and fro the sections of Cusco you will likely be visiting (sights, restaurants, shopping). I went in August so Cusco is quite chilly at night and my one complaint was that the radiator (which was quite noisy) is not enough to heat the entire room and they only have it on at certain hours. A small matter especially at the price point, and they provide plenty of blankets to keep you warm. If I come back to Cusco, I would definitely stay here although I might ask for a room on the third (top) floor (it's just one flight, because the lobby is on the second floor -- has to do with the pitch of the hill) to get some light/warmth during the day. They only serve breakfast (but it is delicious and very generous) but there are so many incredible restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk that it doesn't matter. They have a small selection of massage services (I had one - it was very relaxing). There's a small array of gift items that are competitively priced. I absolutely loved Cusco and Atoq San Blas was a key part of the...

The staff was professional, helpful, and thoughtful. During both stays they were able to accommodate an early check-in which was essential for us. We’re were traveling with 5 ppl and the rooms were very well appointed with great views. On my Birthday, every member of the staff was aware of the special date. Greeted me with a warm “happy birthday”, and my room had a special note and slice of cake which was delicious. The hotel breakfast was the best of our entire trip. And the location was central to everything we wanted to do in Cusco. 100% would recommend staying here. Anna and Lenin will ensure the stay is unforgettable.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. Breakfast was served fresh. Location was almost perfect, near the center of the city. Walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, etc. Must mention that the hotel is located at the top of a hill, to reach it by foot you need to go upstairs (over a 100 steps) and it can be difficult with the altitude, we had to take a couple of breaks every time we had to walk back to the hotel. It's a bit hard for taxis to get to the door, although some of them do it. We had to walk down to a main street to meet our guides and rides for most of our tours.

We stayed 3 nights here before starting the Inca trail. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms were nice and clean with comfortable beds and a TV with English channels. The bathroom was also clean and the shower was great. The included breakfast was wonderful (you pick what you would like the night before and they bring it when you arrive to the breakfast room in the morning). They also made a packed breakfast for us which was ready at 4am the morning of our hike. The reception and kitchen staff were very helpful, lovely and accommodating. The surrounding area is also very pretty. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel is stunning!! We stayed in two different rooms due to different reservations and both were perfect. The beds and pillows are really comfortable which meant for a good nights sleep! We stayed on the second floor and views from the balcony, both day and night, are stunning. The complimentary breakfast is really delicious too and set us up for the day. The ladies working there are lovely and make perfectly cooked eggs! The staff here are all really friendly and nice, also helped us to book a taxi to the airport on the way home. The stairs into the centre are a bit of a killer so be aware 😂
